My lineup for this slate.
PG – M. Delaney; I’m a sucker for starting point guards at the bare minimum (even with nightmares of Brandon Knight on my mind). In all seriousness, of all the outcomes possible in this situation the probability that he kills a lineups seems low, especially with him highly owned.
SG – C. Joseph; See above.
SF – J. Butler; In my opinion, Butler is the only reliable Bull to play. He has the highest usage in a pace up game, vs a team that is not good defensively (especially with Tucker having been traded).
PF – D. Saric; He’s been making value off the bench, and with trades of Noel and Ilyasova his playing time should go up.
C – B. Lopez; This game has the highest total on the slate, and Lopez has the highest usage on the Nets. Jokic may be good offensively, but still struggles on defense. I felt the $6900 on Lopez offered good value.
G – I. Thomas; I was on Lowry most of the day, until he was declared out. I pivoted to Thomas for a couple of reasons. First, the game was predicted to be high scoring and close. Thomas has the highest usage on the Celtics and in a close game against a mediocre defender (Joseph) I liked the price at $9000, which is lower then it’s been in awhile. He has shown upside at they price point.
F – O. Porter; I wanted exposure to the Wizards to correlate with Saric. I went with Porter due to his price and his upside.
U – Y. Farrell; With D. Williams released and J. Barrea injured, I felt Farrell was locked in to get 30+ minutes, and is thus a good value at $5300. Rubio isn’t a great defender, nor are the Timberwolves as a whole.
Result: 223.25 (-$20)
Using the two cheap guards didn’t hurt the lineup. Outside of those two, and Saric, the lineup did quite poor. At least when I have a bad night like this, I know that no one decision (say Covongton for Porter) would’ve helped me cash.
