The lineup was in flux until the news that Lebron James would miss the game. I then wanted to make a lineup with K. Irving and J. Butler. Here is the lineup.
K. Irving; Without K. Love and L. James, Irving will have huge usage. He also should get a ton of minutes.
J. Butler; With Lebron our I felt much better about the game staying close. I wanted to use Butler to correlate with Irving.
D. Valentine; This is likely my riskiest play, but at $3000, I felt the risk was worth it. He played well last night vs Phoenix, and is likely in the rotation at this point.
R. Covington; It was between Covington and Saric in the spot. I went with Covington for two reasons. First, he is $500 cheaper. Second, with the thee point bonus on DK, I thought Covington had a greater profit potential then Saric. I got my Saric exposure on FD.
H. Whiteside; I liked his match up against Indiana. His price at $8000 left room for plenty of upside.
D. Schroeder; I felt he had a good match up against Orlando and E. Peyton. When I got the news he wasn’t starting I could have switched, perhaps to Peyton, but I decided to stick with Schroeder, thinking he would still get decent minutes.
A. Iguodala; This was the last spot I filled on my roster. I liked the rest of the roster, so with $3900 left I thought he was the best option. With Durant out, and the game being the highest predicted total of the night, some cheap exposure wasn’t a bad idea.
T. Johnson; I liked the value at $5100. Despite the return of the healthy players on the Heat, Johnson was still getting his run and taking lots of shots.
Result: 298 (-$8)
It was a high scoring night. Johnson was the lone snowflake in my lineup, as everyone else met or exceeded value (5x) and had the fire symbol. I didn’t have Peyton on my roster or exposure to the Minnesota / Houston game. Once I decided to make the Butler / Irving correlation the key feature in my lineup, to go along with Whiteside, the rest of the roster fell into place pretty easily.
