I’m changing up how review the previous slate. My lineup was the following;
PG – M. Conley (49.5)
SG – D. DeRozen (47.5)
SF – M. Kidd-Gilchrist (12.0)
PF – F. Kaminisky (27.75)
C – A. Drummond (39.75)
G – C. Joseph (26.25)
F – J. Leuer (16.0)
U – I. Smith (13.5)
Sometimes I get stubborn when making a lineup. I was determined to go with a core that included Conley, DeRozen, and Drummond. Conley was playing Denver, which is a great match-up for opposing guards. Derozen was playing Portland, another poor defensive team, and with Lowry out, was going to get a boost in his usage rate. Drumminf usually crushes against Boston, a team which doesn’t rebound well. Joseph was a good value at $4500, so I included him in my “core”. The problem with the big three of my core, is that it didn’t leave much room left for the other positions, and I ended up with less optimal choices. Kaminski did fine, getting close to value. Kidd-Gilchrist and Leuer rarely have scores that win tournaments, yet I played them anyway. The point guard situation in Detroit is in flux. I was playing the hot hand in Smith. Unfortunately for my lineup, Jackson got hot, and Smith didn’t get much time. Looking back, I needed to reduce my core by one of the three, and spread the money out so I had more upside plays. At least that is my observation after looking at the results.
