Wednesday 3/8/17 – Main Slate (11 Games)

I did make a small profit, but considering I had E. Payton and his 72 points, I am a little disappointed with my final result.  Here was my lineup.

E. Payton – I know he has a low floor, but his ceiling is crazy high, as evidenced by last nights output.  Anytime he has a decent match-up he will be on my list of possibly PG’s, especially if his price remains below 7k.

D. Derozen – His usage rate is super high with K. Lowry out.  That usage combined with his price of $8700 is what led me to select him. At that price I felt the probability was high that he would reach or exceed value.  He has a poor first half, and even though he came on in the 2nd half, he was a snowflake at roughly 3x-4x value.  Looking back I would still make the play, as the combination of usage and price were too good.

B. Bogdanovic – This was the pick I wish I had back.  At the time I wanted some exposure to the WAS / DEN game and I thought the pace would suit his game.  Looking back, I’m just not sure paying $5000 for him was the optimum move.  Hindsight is 20/20 and perhaps I’m being too results driven, but I wish I had considered other options.  He was the 2nd and last snowflake in my lineup.

D. Lee – Once it was announced that K. Leonard and L. Aldridge were out, this became an auto play for me.  At $3700 Lee was an exceptional value and he reached 9x on his salary.  He tends to be a good fantasy player when getting minutes.

R. Gobert – The lineup features two big centers, and both got to value.  I liked Gobert in a pace up game, with a match up against undersized big men.  I liked his chances for a double-double and thought he could get as high as 20 rebounds.  23 points and 10 rebounds is solid, but I would have expected more rebounds.

E. Gordon – At $4300, and in the starting lineup, he seemed a good value play, in a high total game.  He did get to value, but it was a close thing.

W. Chandler – I didn’t expect Jokic to play, and though Chandler was the best play from Denver in a high scoring game.  He got to value, and I am happy with the pick.

H. Whiteside – I liked his price at $7700, and liked his chances of getting lots of rebounds against a weak Charlotte interior.  10 points and 15 rebounds is a decent line, but I would have expected more points.

Overall the lineup was decent.  The Bogdanavic play was the only play I wish I had looked at again.  Outside of Payton and Lee, no one got higher then roughly 5x, which capped my score.

I had some success with turbo slates over the last week, and will be playing them moving forward.  I don’t play all of them.  I look for 3+ games, with at least 2 games that I can target.
